Carnival Corporation - the world’s largest cruise operator and parent company of Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, and Seabourn, has confirmed it no longer offers shore excursions involving captive elephant rides or bathing activities.

The decision aligns Carnival with more than 50 global travel companies - including Tripadvisor, Airbnb, Intrepid Travel, Booking.com, Expedia Group, and Royal Caribbean - that have pledged to exclude elephant related tourist encounters due to concerns about animal welfare and visitor safety.

Whiskers, Paws and Love® fully supports this shift away from animal based entertainment and encourages other travel providers to adopt similar policies. We commend Carnival's decision to espouse ethical and responsible tourism practices that respect the well-being of all animals.

Additionally, organizations including PETA have called on the Tourism Authority of Thailand to implement a national ban on elephant rides at tourist sites to further protect the welfare of captive elephants.

Whiskers, Paws and Love® continues to promote awareness and education around humane tourism and the broader impacts of animal exploitation on both human and animal communities.
