Fully Remote Volunteer Role

Are you a creative powerhouse with a passion for animals and storytelling? Whiskers, Paws, and Love Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of furry companions, is looking for a Web and Graphic Designer!

Whiskers, Paws, and Love Inc. operates two websites:

  • whiskerspawslove.org
  • pawstogether.org

Role Overview

As our Web and Graphic Designer, you will:

  • Design engaging visuals and mockups for our websites and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner to transform ideas into stunning designs that guide our developer.
  • Work with our team to bring characters and themes to life through imaginative illustrations for our upcoming children’s storybook.

This is a fully remote, volunteer position where your creativity will directly support our mission and help enhance our online presence and storytelling efforts.

Responsibilities

Web and Graphic Design:

  • Work closely with the Product Owner to understand project goals and feedback.
  • Create website mockups, digital graphics, and campaign assets.
  • Provide clear, actionable design documentation for developers.
  • Use tools like Canva Pro and Affinity to craft polished visuals.

Storybook Illustration:

  • Collaborate with artist and writers to understand the story's narrative and visual tone.
  • Develop captivating illustrations that align with the story’s themes of love and kindness.
  • Use the paid MidJourney subscription and other tools to create enchanting, high-quality artwork.
  • Incorporate feedback to refine illustrations and meet project goals.

What We’re Looking For

  • A passion for design, storytelling, and animals!
  • Experience in graphic design, web design, or UI/UX design.
  • Strong skills in illustration or digital art; familiarity with MidJourney is a plus.
  • A collaborative, feedback-friendly mindset and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Canva Pro, Affinity, Figma, or similar tools.
